Lord Ganesha is the Front Runner for All other Gods. It is said in Hindu Philosophy that without worshipping him, you will not able to appease other Gods or Any Task will succeed . He is Leader of Gnanas(Army of Lord Shiva). Even in Vaishanavism(Sect following Lord Vishnu), he is been accoladed as one of Alwars (Thumbikkai Alwayar) and only God from Shaivism who is been worshipped in Vaishnava Temple.

He is part and parcel Tamil Language Speaking People. No House will be there in Tamilnadu without his Image in their Puja Room(Hindus Only)

Sundaramoorthy Nayanar and Seraman Nayanar requested Avaiyar to come with them to Kailasam(Abode of Lord Shiva) by igonring Ganesh Puja. But she refused and completed her Pooja of Lord Ganesha. It was told that Lord Ganesha took Avaiyar before Sundaramoorthy Nayanar and Seraman Nayanar to Kailasam.
